Tenerife Airport Transfers: Which Option to Choose
Tenerife has two airports — Tenerife South (TFS), which handles nearly all international/holiday traffic, and Tenerife North (TFN), used mostly for inter-island flights. Almost everyone flying in on a package or budget airline lands at TFS, so that’s the transfer route most people need to plan.

Practical tips
- Book a private transfer if your flight lands late. TFS taxi queues and shared-shuttle waiting times get long after most other flights have already been collected.
- Confirm your resort area is included. Some transfer products are priced per zone (e.g. Costa Adeje vs Los Cristianos vs Puerto de la Cruz) — check before booking if you’re staying somewhere less central.
- Journey times vary a lot by destination. TFS to Costa Adeje is roughly 20–30 minutes; TFS to Puerto de la Cruz in the north can take over an hour.
